ARGYLE

Marion G. (Hoskins) Eggleston, 89, formerly of Holmes Road in Argyle and Chestnut Street in South Glens Falls, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September, 30, 2014 at Fort Hudson Nursing Home in Fort Edward.

Born July 14, 1925 in Glens Falls, NY, Marion was the daughter of the late Arthur and Hattie (Higgins) Hoskins.

She attended Fort Edward schools, and was employed at the Woolworth Store in Glens Falls, where she worked as a window dresser.

Beyond all else, Marion’s focus and love was her family and she was never happier than when her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were around her. She often cooked for a crowd and her famous candy bowl on the kitchen counter was never empty. No one ever visited without helping themselves to a piece.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Marion was predeceased by her brother Arthur “Buster” Hoskins of Argyle, and her sister Ellen Morelli of San Jose, CA.

Marion is survived by three sons; Kenneth Eggleston and his wife Diana of Argyle, Michael Eggleston and his wife Colleen of Fort Edward, and James Eggleston and his wife Patricia of Queensbury, a daughter Pat Tugas and her husband Lee of Granville, 11 grandchildren; Michael D. Eggleston, Benjamin Eggleston, Shawn Eggleston, Kenneth R. Eggleston, Chelsea Borden, Jessica Tugas Neeson, Erika Tugas, Shane Jenks, Robert Whitcomb, Jeff Whitcomb, and Cassandra Flores, seven great-grandchildren; Melissa, Michael, Matthew Zachery, and Spencer May Eggleston, and Chase and Avery Borden, several nieces and nephews, as well as her dear friends, Beverly Sellingham and Fran Sloan, both of Argyle.
