Adeline A. "Addie"  Suprise
South Glens Falls

Adeline “Addie” A. Suprise, 89, passed away Monday, December 11, 2017 at the Fort Hudson Nursing Home.

Born February 8, 1928 in Glens Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Inez (De Sanctis) Gregory.

Adeline married Leonard H. Suprise on September 12, 1948 in St. Mary’s Church in Glens Falls. They spent 66 years together until his passing on December 17, 2014.

In 1947 Addie was crowned the Winter Carnival Queen by Lake George Mayor George Pharmer and Glens Falls Mayor John Bazinet during ceremonies at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Glens Falls.

Addie was a breast cancer survivor. Following her own recovery, she gave her time to council and support other patients.

She was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church in South Glens Falls.

Addie worked at the cafeteria at the South Glens Falls school district for many years and was well known and loved by the students and staff.

Addie and Len were avid Red Wings fans and even worked at the Civic Center during their games.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Addie was predeceased by her siblings, Emma, Anne, Richard, Bert, Hugo and Phil.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Leonard F. Suprise and his wife Joan Russell, and Greg S. Suprise; her grandchildren, Julie and Emily; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Monday, December 18, 2017 at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 80 Saratoga Ave, South Glens Falls, with Rev. Guy A. Childs, Pastor officiating.

Rite of Committal will follow Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery in South Glens Falls.
