Danny “Big Dan” “Odie” Anderson, 70, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at home with his wife by his side.
Born February 29, 1948 in Ticonderoga, NY, he was the son of the late Gerald Anderson and Mary Anderson Edwards.
Danny served in the US Army then worked at General Electric for almost 30 years until retirement in 1997. He loved fishing and long drives in the countryside on his motorcycle. In his later years, the drives were taken in his pickup truck on West River Road with plenty stories for his passengers.
Danny was predeceased by his father, Gerald Anderson; his mother, Mary Edwards; and stepfather, Bill Edwards. He was also predeceased by his sisters Sue Ferguson, Donna Conlon, and Gerilyn Kingsley.
Left to cherish in his memory are his loving wife of 48 years, Patricia Anderson; his son Danny (Donica) of Burnt Hills; his daughter Jennifer (Jacob Beebe) of Fort Edward; his mother Lois Anderson of Delmar; his brothers Joseph (Julean) of Greenfield Center, Nelson of Ballston Spa, Clifford (Robin) of Glens Falls; his sisters Virginia (Craig) of Delaware, and Dawn (Joseph) of Albany; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call from 4-6pm on Wednesday, August 1st, 2018 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Thursday, August 2nd, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Church, 164 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY. Rite of Committal will follow Mass at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
The family would like to publicly thank their gracious neighbors, Joe and Helene Rabine, who have aided and supported the family through the years. In addition, the family would like to thank Glenn Anderson, PA for his care of Danny.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial donations in Danny’s name be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.
