Obituary for Dorothy Mae "Dot" Jordan (Bruso)

FORT EDWARD

Dorothy “Dot” (Bruso) Jordan, 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Glens Falls Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Born September 28, 1924 in Witherbee, NY she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Mary (Kelly) Bruso.

Dorothy was the salutatorian of the Class of 1942 at Fort Edward High School.

On December 12, 1942, she married William H. Jordan and together they raised their family until his passing on June 3, 1994.

Dorothy was a lifelong Communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Fort Edward where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and a Lector. She also taught religious education for many years and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Morrissey #1477. She volunteered at the Fort Hudson Nursing Home for many years as well, reading bible verses and offering comfort to the residents there.

Most importantly, Dorothy was a friend to all who knew her and “never met a stranger”. She always found the good in everyone, became a mother figure or “Grandma” to anyone who needed one, and her home was always open. Her family and faith were the most important things in the world to her. As she always said, she was never alone. She walked in the presence of her Savior, Jesus.

In addition to her parents, Dot was predeceased by her husband William H. Jordan, her son William Herbert Jordan, her great-grandson, Zachary DuPrey, her great-great grandson Caleb Montello, her sisters; Edith LaVigne (Art), Lorraine Fox, and Sylvia Bruso, her brother John Bruso (Shirley), her son-in-law Clifton Benware, and her brother-in-law Hebert Vadnais.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons; Craig Jordan and his wife Cherry, and John Jordan and his wife Susan, her daughters; Donna Benware, Beatrice Pliscofsky (William), Faye Plisko (William), and Jane Woolley (Paul), her grandchildren; Julie, Sharon, Tammy, Billy (Julieanne), Angela, Terese, Mark (Gail), Patti (Kevin), Lori (Gary), Bill (JoAnn), Toni, April (Amy), Autumn (Derek), Amber (Aaron), Billi-Jo (Dave), Brandy, Aarika (Ryan), Paul (Megan), Brittany, and Nicole (Ronnie), her great-grandchildren; Jessica, Jill, A.J., Stacy, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Justine, Timothy, Johnathan, Justin, Rachael, Noach, Analise, Kennedie, Sydnea, Keaghan, Charley, Ethan, Andrew, Michael, Dominick, Blaine, Alexis, Haylie-Morgan, Briauna, Sean, Peter, Jordan, Braydon, Brooklynn, Hayden, Jace, Cooper, Maddox, Carter, Sophie, Lily May, Grace, Steven, Trysten, Leslie, and Westyn, her great-great grandchildren; Nicholas, Camden, Jaycie, Jared, Olivia, Carly, Bella, Raeghan, Parker, Teddy, Sebastian, Addie, Liam, Korbin, Peyton, Lillie, Amelia, Millie, her sister Helen Vadnais, her “adopted” grandchildren; Joyann, Leslie, and Brayden, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
