Obituary for Lee E. Porter

Fort Edward

Lee E. Porter, 75, passed away on Thursday, February 07, 2019 at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Keene, NH on February 1, 1944, he was the son of the late Robert Porter and Ellen (Brown) Towsley.

He attended Charlestown High School before he was drafted into the United States Army from 1965-1967.

On July 8, 1967, he married the love of his life, Kathe Small, at St. Luke’s Church in Cambridge.

Lee worked at General Electric in Fort Edward for 35 years where he retired on his 58th birthday.

He enjoyed hunting, swinging on his porch swing, long car rides, but mostly he loved spending time with his grandsons and family.

Along with his parents, Lee is predeceased by his siblings, James Porter, Beatrice Sebert, William Porter, Patricia Sanford, and Cedric Tashro.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 51 years, Kathe Porter, son, Lee Porter Jr. and wife Denise, daughter, Michelle McKenzie, two grandsons, Justin Lee Porter and Michael Lee McKenzie, siblings, Larry Porter, Vernon Porter and wife Mary, Corrinne Boles, Carol Smith and husband Olin, Dana Towsley and wife Robin, Elbert Towsley and wife Kathy, Joanne Nash, Louise Wright and husband Herb, and Cheryl Towsley, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 2-4pm on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home 82 Broadway Fort Edward, NY 12828.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
