Obituary for Ronald James Chase
SOUTH GLENS FALLS
Ronald J. Chase, 67, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at the Hillcrest Commons Nursing Facility in Pittsfield, MA.
Born August 27, 1952 in Brant Lake, NY, he was the son of the late Jesse and Audrey (Remington) Chase.
Ronald graduated from Horicon Central School and pursued further education through BOCES where he earned certifications in working with the developmentally disabled. He was then employed at the Wilton Developmental Center until their closure and then by the State of New York in various group homes for the developmentally disabled until his retirement.
Ronald was a member of the St. Andrew Lutheran Church in South Glens Falls. He also enjoyed photography, visiting his friends, going to garage sales, and studying the history of the various American Indian tribes in the area.
In addition to his parents, Ronald is predeceased by his brothers, Walter Seymour Chase, and Martin Laverne Chase.
Left to cherish his memory are his sister Mary Harpp, his nieces; Audrey Drum and her husband John and Elisabeth Schoonmaker and her husband Joseph, his nephew Jonathan Drum, his great-niece Audrianna Drum, his former wife Lyn Chase, many cousins, and his beloved cat Zoë.
At Ronald’s request, there will be no calling hours.
Memorial Services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at Saint Andrew Lutheran Church, 600 Gansevoort Road, South Glens Falls, NY 12803, light refreshments to follow.
Arrangements are in the care of the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main Street, South Glens Falls, NY 12803.
