South Glens Falls – Paul A. Snyder, 62 of South Glens Falls, died Monday October 29, 2018 at his home with his loving family by his side. Born in Hornell, NY on November 8, 1955, he was the son of Norman and Pauline (Pomainville) Snyder. Having lost his father at 8 months old, his mother married John Donahue in 1963, and John raised him as his own.

Paul was a graduate of South High and Adirondack Community College. He was an outstanding soccer player at both schools and his love of the game led him to a life of coaching and influencing a generation of young people, not only to become better players but better people. Paul coached all levels of soccer for the boys and girls programs at South High including the boys varsity. He also spent time coaching for Lake Luzerne boys varsity, Adirondack Community College men’s team, and coached both his children in the Moreau Recreation Soccer program as well as the South Glens Falls Soccer Club. Paul also spent time coaching Brooke in softball, first with the Adirondack X-treme and then the Adirondack Shock. He also served on the SGF Soccer Club Board and he created the Adirondack Amateur Soccer League with his long time friend, Paul Trombley. In addition to his commitment to coaching, he was an avid sports fan of the Red Sox, Raiders, Manchester United and especially his beloved Notre Dame.

Paul was employed by North Country Janitorial in Glens Falls from 1974-2013. He began as a part-time employee and worked his way up to Vice President of Operations.

In addition to his wife and children, Paul is survived by his puppy and loyal companion Bella; three siblings, Michael Donahue, his wife Kathy and their children Kristina and Jonathan; Laurie Wetsel and her husband Scott; Mark Donahue and his partner Joseph Schwerman.
