Robert Matthew Elder Sr., 76, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018, at Warren Center Nursing Home.
Born on November 29, 1942, in Fort Edward, he was the son of the late Matthew and Theresa (LaFarr) Elder.
Bob was a 1960 graduate of Fort Edward High School. He received his associates degree from Hudson Valley Community College in 1962.
He retired as tractor trailer driver from Mobile Oil Corporation in Albany. He was a lifetime communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Fort Edward. Bob also served on the Fort Edward School Board. He was a member of the Lions Club and Satterley Hose Volunteer Fire Company in Fort Edward.
Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, socializing and partying with friends.
Left to cherish Bob’s memory includes his children, Matthew Elder Jr., Rodney Elder, Rosalyn Wallace and Ryan Elder; his sister, Elaine and her husband, Ronald Oakley; his first cousin, Caroline Sgorrano. Bob will be sorely missed by his many, many friends.
At Bob’s request there will be no calling hours.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
