Travis graduated from South Glens Falls High School. He was employed for over 20 years by the Wilton Highway Department where his work ethic earned him the nickname "Tuffy".

He loved volunteering for the Gansevoort Fire Department and cherished the many friends he made there.

On April 8, 2018 he married the love of his life and best friend, Jan (Schaff) Lavigne.

Travis loved his family with all his heart. He showed his love with everything he did with them and made them a priority above all else in his life. His son Kyle was a light in his life that he cherished and held dear from the minute of his birth. His wife, Jan, and her children were embraced fully in his love and his caring heart and will be loved eternally. He was a man who always had the time to help a friend, a family member or even a stranger in need.

Travis loved fishing and classic cars. He restored an antique step-side Chevy truck and his 1963 Chevy Bel Air. Travis loved Dirty John's hot dogs and was known for eating them 10 to 12 at a time. He loved motorcycles, playing poker and going to the casinos with his mom and crazy Aunt Carol. Travis loved going to the movies with Jan, Kyle and his mom. Travis had an amazing sense of humor and was also known for his practical jokes, contagious smile and infectious laugh.
