Phyllis (Brownell) Shaw, 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at The Pines in Glens Falls.

Born January 28, 1930 in Cambridge, NY, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Nellie (Denaro) Brownell.

Phyllis married Walter L. Shaw in 1950 and together they raised their family for 67 years until his passing in 2017. Phyllis loved to cook and attend family gatherings. She loved playing cards, dice, or anything that allowed her to socialize with her family and friends. Phyllis enjoyed travelling with her friends, especially to Virginia, Pennsylvania and Florida. She and Judy could often be found at yard sales on Saturdays, followed by eating out. Most of all, Phyllis will be remembered as a generous woman with a huge heart and a beautiful soul. The smile that she always had for everyone will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Phyllis is predeceased by her grandson Christopher Bradley and many siblings.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; David Shaw (Nina), Donald Shaw (Mae), Jeanne Clogston, Kevin Shaw, Jeffery Shaw, Lessie Bourne (Skip), Michele Cross (Roderick), and Michael Shaw, 11 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, her sisters, Rose Waters and Carmel Northup, her brother Frank Brownell, her best friend Judy Smith as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call from 4-6pm on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11am on Friday, August 3, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. Deb Peacock of the Argyle United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will follow the funeral service at the North Granville Cemetery.
